Julia Blake runs her own cleaning business. She has the unfortunate knack of getting herself involved in murder enquiries.
In this story, Julia goes on a spa break with her mum. They look forward to relaxing and being pampered. Julia is particularly excited to experience the new chocolate therapy sessions, and her therapist, Erin, assures her it will be a wonderful experience.
It is not a wonderful experience as Julia soon discovers a body in the chocolate floatation tank. She is happy to leave the investigation to the police, but her new friend has other ideas.

Actually, 3 1/2 stars. As will all the Julia Blake cozy mysteries, this is a pleasant, non-taxing, quick read, with likeable characters; just simple fun. There is no graphic or overt violence and no gratuitous sex, but many of the character have well-hidden secrets to be ferreted out. I did enjoy the intertwining of a new character with those in previous stories of the series, and the spa setting was a pleasant addition to the usual village setting. I felt a touch ripped off by an inconclusive wrap-up in which a drug used was neither named nor even hinted at (i.e., wasn't even described by something as simple as "herbal mixture" or "illegal substance"). Other than that, though, an enjoyable book, but not for the reader of high-speed or intense mysteries.Product details

I love the character Julie. I think a lot of us if we are honest can identify with her. She stretches herself when she investigates a crime. It is an achievement but she really has the best interest for the people. Love she has met the a new friend.
Another fun story, from Gillian Larkin...I enjoyed reading Julia's latest adventure... Julia just can't get away from dead bodies... They show up everywhere she goes, even when she is at the spa, taking some time off.. It was a enjoyable book... Looking forward to the next one..
I loved the book. It kept me guessing all through the book. It was a wonderful and exciting read. Would recommend to any mystery buff. I did receive this book free for honest review. This was interesting with Julia's mother and DI Clarkes wife at the spa for treatments. The woman had been given the spa visits as gifts from husbands and father. Julia did not find the b o dy this time. Gemma found the young lady in a chocolate bath. Gemma is DI Clarke's wife. Gemma was under suspicion and asked Julia to help prove her innocence since she had helped the police in the past esp DI. Good mystery.
Julie Blake and her mother Kathleen Rosenthorpe checked into the Summer Crest Spa. The time was paid for by her father because he felt they needed some pampering. Julie met up with Gemma Clarke the wife of DI Clarke the policeman she was always getting into trouble with because he thought she was always finding dead bodies and interfering with his cases. As usual one of the instructors was found dead so Gemma and Julia started investigating and getting into trouble with DI Thostlewaite the policeman on this case!
Julia and her mother, Kathleen were surprised with a spa weekend which naturally was complicated with another murder. I hope the spa was based on a real place! It sounds like a great place!! Chocolate therapy sounds like something I would like to try but no dead bodies for me! We also meet DI Clarke's wife, Gemma and I hope she is in upcoming adventures! A quick, fun and entertaining read!
Julia Blake never fails to find a dead body even at a spa. A weekend with her mother where they are supposed to be relaxing turns into a murder investigation. Of course, Julia somehow becomes involved. This time she meets a new friend and the two of them try to find the murderer.
As always, the author manages to give us many twists and turns where I was continually changing my mind about who the killer was at the spa. This was an entertaining read!
